Just Waiting for the right piece to show up.
Every once in a while a truly great game will show its face in a crowd of other games. Tetris Max is one of those games. Showing up out of nowhere this game was slow to catch on. Tetris Max is very similar to the commercial version released by Spectrum Holobyte. So similar that you might ask yourself "Why wouldn't I get the commercial version instead?" You wouldn't want Tetris because at half the price Tetris Max is more that twice the game. The graphics (there are two different sets to choose from) are much superior and the soundtrack (there are three different MOD files to choose from one of which is in full stereo) is not as annoying as with Tetris. The game goes even further with great sound effects and an eye catching background that changes with each level. With the commercial game there was very little incentive to gain extra points. However, with Tetris Max you gain extra points for disposing of more than one line. For instance you get 100 point for 1 line, 300 points for two line, 600 points for 3 lines, and 1000 points for 4 lines. It only make sense to try for the full 4 lines to gain the point advantage. With everything that Tetris Max offers it shines well beyond the competition.
